So what is Totally Locally Durham?
It’s social enterprise, shop local, and working together all rolled into one. It’s about reminding us all of the genuine value of Independent Businesses in Durham City. And it’s designed to lift the whole city.
Did you know that if each household in the DH1 postcode spent £5 with local independents each week (rather than online or in national chains) it would pump £4.6 million into the local economy?
If you’ve found a great business, service provider, cafe, or anything like that in Durham we want you NOT to keep it to yourself. Tell your friends. Tell your family. Tell your colleagues too.
Come and speak to the independent businesses in Durham. They’ve got real knowledge about their business, they are the experts, and they’re happy to help you. And if you’re looking for something and you can’t find it … well ask! After all, the likelihood is that if they don’t stock what you’re looking for, they can point you in the direction of another local independent who does.
We already have over 70 businesses signed up to Totally Locally Durham, and more are welcome to join the movement.
